The Chicago Cubs, trying to build a "new tradition", have traded away 2 top minor prospects for one 30+ year old third baseman. Ron Cey will reportedly make $3.5 for 5 years. The Cub infield now has Cey, Larry Bowa Ryne Sandburg and Bill Buckner. With the exception of Sandburg, the entire infield is about as old as you can get! And the Cubs are going with youth?? O.K. they`ve got Hall and Durham plus whoever they put in left to cover the outfield, plus Davis behind the plate. But the pitching staff easily outdoes that. The #1 pitcher is 38 year old Fergie Jenkins! When will Cub management wake up and realize they need pitching, not old third basemen! This lifelong Cub fan has one thing to say - GO BREWERS!!!!!!
