I just got back from Long Beach after watching the Formula One Grand Prix and I decide to share the results with the net since they are often hard to find in the media. The race, one of the most exciting Formula One races held for some time, was won by John Watson who started from 22nd place on the grid. His team mate, Niki Lauda, who started from 23rd place, finished second. The final results were: Pos. Driver Car Engine --- ------ --- ------ 1. John Watson Marlboro McLaren MP4\1C Cosworth DFY 2. Niki Lauda Marlboro McLaren MP4\1C Cosworth DFY 3. Rene Arnoux Ferrari 126C2 Ferrari V6 Turbo 4. Jack Laffite Williams FW08C Cosworth DFY 5. Marc Surer Arrows Cosworth DFV 6. Johnny Cecotto Theodore Cosworth DFV Viva Cosworth! The turbo's strike out again. Incidentally, the results I posted for the Brazilian GP have changed. Keke Rosberg, who finished in second place on the road, was disqualified for receiving a push start after a pit stop. The disqualification is of course under protest by his team, Williams. It is interesting to note that second place has been left vacant and no second place championship points have been awarded.
