What's the matter? Are there no track fans on the net? Did anyone besides me see Mary Decker get beat? What about "washed up" Dwight Stones setting the American record in the high jump? There were some great races and some really poor ones. James Robinson blew it in the 800. Sydney Maree almost blew it in the 1500. ... Lets see some traffic about the olympics and the trials!

<obligatory> Of course there are others!!! I knew Ruth back when she was Caldwell...I knew she was good, but to see her beat Decker.....WOW! Mary was tired, of coures, but Ruth still ran 12 seconds faster than her previous PR! I hated to see James Robinson fail to qualify, and despite Stones' personality, I'm glad to see the American record moving up. What I *really* want to see is the 400 hurdle finals at the Olympics - quite a bit of new talent to be seen...Watch out, Edwin! Does anyone else out there feel like the distance runners aren't all that excited (with the exception of Henry Marsh)? Any comments? Ok, ok, yes there are other track fans out here! My dad got me interested in Track and Field when I was just a youngster, took me to a Cal vs USC dual meet back when USC fielded an entire team. I watched as many minutes of the trials as I could, lots of good performances but quite a few name athletes didnt make it. Mary Decker looked good - but I was amazed by the performances made by Ruth Wysocki/Caldwell, to bad we won't see the Russian women at the games for her to take a shot at. I don't know why most of the distance runners who made the team didn't seem excited, maybe they know the foriegn comp is going to be tough, I saw a clip of the new world record in the 10K, getting real close to 27 minutes flat! I think Henry Marsh has an excellent chance to take the Steeplechase if he can avoid tripping on a hurdle like he did in the World Championships. Comments?
