This is a feeler to determine the level of interest in a discussion group that might possibly be called net.rec.gamble. The major topic of the group would be winning-strategy regarding (I can't stress this enough) LEGAL forms of gambling. In particular, proven or suspected "winnable" gambling such as black jack, dog racing, horse racing, and Jai Alai come to mind, though subjects such as lotteries and other games of chance (roulette, etc.) might also be discussed. The twin subjects of game theory and computer-aided gambling (CAG to add yet another acronym) would be welcome topics of discussion in this group. Here is the chance to voice your opinion on this topic. If you have any interest in this idea either pro or con, please submit your views to net.news.group (only!) or to me directly. Thank you.

net.rec.gamble or whatever is a fine idea. The 'beat the lottery' discussion chokes net.math periodically. It would be nice to have a forum for flaming :-) err illuminating believers in the Martingale system... Please have the introductory, non-expiring message emphasize the discouragement of co-posting to net.math--and co-post it to net.math, so any interested math/stat types (like me) can subscribe. -- William Ricker wdr@MITRE-Bedford.ARPA (MIL) wdr@faron.UUCP (UUCP) decvax!genrad!linus!faron!wdr (UUCP) {allegra,ihnp4,utzoo,philabs,uw-beaver}!linus!faron!wdr (UUCP) Opinions are my own and not necessarily anyone elses. Likewise the "facts".

My particular interest is in horse racing, especially the West Coast circuit between Longacres and Bay Meadows. I'd like to see a discussion on trainer tactics such as vitamin dosing, and tongue ties. From the lair of Big E Erik !uw-beaver!ssc-vax!erik
