To All Cricket Lovers: ---------------------- India Beat Pakistan to win the Benson & Hedges World Championship. It is confirmed indeed that India are true Champions in one day Cricket. Scores: Pakistan :- 176/9 in 50 overs. Miandad 47 Imran 38 Wasim Raja 27 n.o. Kapil Dev 3/27 Siva 3/35 India :- 177/2 in 48.1 overs. Srikanth 67 (2 sixers & 6 fours) Shastri 63 n.o. Azharuddin 25 Vengsarkar 18 n.o. Srikanth was declared Man of the Match & Ravi Shastri was declared the Man of the Series.

I am not sure that India is all that consistant a One day team; admittadly though, I haven't been keeping track of one day scores of late, as our cricket scores are buried deep in the bottom of the results in the sports pages(even church league softball get better press). I'm not so sure that the retirement of Loyld will hurt the West Indies momentum, even if they did falter badly in Australia. However, it is a great achievement for Indian cricket; I take my hat off to the Indian team.
