before I start, is net.sport.tennis going to be realized? Now, on with the show: the GOOD.... Arthur Ashe: had the guts to "ridicule" Howard Cosell's not-so- relevant remarks on the air (which prompted Howard to stoop to personal insults; something like, "why aren't you playing out there, Arthur?" This event took place years back when A.A. was still playing on and off before heart trouble, etc.) On the whole, he is candid, insightful, and quiet when he should be. ----------- the BAD... Joanne Russell: as a previous note said, "send her to broadcasting school." Tony Trabert: should get off his high chair and start giving some of the players credit where it's due. Virginia Wade: I am sure she is a fine person, etc., and I love a good British accent, but the accent mixed with her high pitched voice, .... just too grating. Tracy Austin: (the few times that she has tried) much too squeaky for the entire duration of a match. --------- and the UGLY... Bud Collins: well, not him, really (although some might argue), but his clothing. His post-match interviews are laughable because of his green-and-mauve plaid pants....(as McEnroe said, "Nice pants, Bud!" *** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MESSAGE ***
