[net.music] David Byrne: Music for the Knee Plays

jcp@osiris.UUCP (Jody Patilla) (05/17/85)

Am listening to this album for the first time this evening.
It doesn't sound like Talking Heads, nor like "The Catherine Wheel".
In style, it's a bit like "Einstein on the Beach", and in sound,
alot like, well, stoned kletzmerrim. There's alot of brass used on
the album, and a ragtime influence.
Those who are interested might look to the new issue of
MUSICIAN for a piece on David Byrne and this record by Mark
Rowland.
