[net.unix] CP/M Support under UNIX???

msk@mtplx1.UUCP (10/21/83)

Greetings and Salutations to you in net.land.

We are looking for any sort of leads for CP/M systems running under UNIX.
This may include software-only solutions, but we are really interested
to find out if anyone has a Multibus board that runs CP/M with some
kind of device driver under UNIX that talks to it. If the board itself
would connect to floppy disk drives, we would be very pleased.

As always, I will summarize interesting responses to the net.

Thanks in advance.

                                              Micro/Tel, Inc.

VENIX 86 is indeed produced by Venturcom. However, Venturcom's exclusive
distributor is UniSource Software Corp., 71 Bent Street, Cambridge, MA
02141. Phone is 617/491-1264.

It is said to be a full scale Unix version 7 implementation for the IBM-XT.

There is also a commercial product out called VENIX I believe (not
to be confused with either DEC's VNX or being some UNIX lookalike).
I remember getting some junk mail on this (thank you USENIX for selling
the UNIX Conference mailing list to these jokers). I'm not sure but
the company may have been VentureCom?
