Hi. The question about pushd/popd no longer exists. Pushd/popd DO look at $cdpath - I was fooled into thinking they didn't by some stuff I had in my .cshrc. Sorry about any trouble caused - I tried to get the article back after it was sent (I found out my mistake a few minutes after sending . .). Thanksm Andrew Royappa
