[net.unix] 4.2 on VAX 730?

fox.vpi%rand-relay@sri-unix.UUCP (12/22/83)

From: Ed Fox <fox.vpi@rand-relay>

I am trying to put together a proposal with VAX 730, RA80, RL02 and would
like to know if 4.2 bsd will run on 730, and if I can get software on
RL02. Also if anyone supplies ethernet interface so TCP/IP can run.
Many thanks, Ed Fox (fox%vpi@csnet-relay).

Ed-
4.2 will run on a 730 with your configuration. I intend to bring it up
on my 730, and should receive it within a month. If you send me your
USnail address I will send you information that might help you, as soon as
I get it.

P.S.... I too would be interested in your ethernet-tcp-ip responses, as I don't
know much about the subject. I do know that 4.2 supports it, although
there is an annoying but kludgable problem with the addressing. I think
4.2 says it supports 3 interfaces; I ASSUME they are 3com, interlan, and DEC,
but I really don't know.
