From: Allan Titcomb <TITCOMB@dec-marlboro> I am looking for any catalogs, on-line services, commercial or not that provide information as to the various languages and applications that run under UNIX. Any help that can be given will be much appreciated. Allan --------

/usr/group has a catalog of UNIX software that they sell... they have a table at UniForm (in Jan or Feb in Washington), or you can get them mail order. I don't have their address handy, but perhaps someone else does... --Ray

I hope this isn't too self-serving a reply. Fortune Systems publishes a software catalog listing all the products that run on our system. Most of these products were developed by third-parties, and are sold by them directly. Fortune gets no revenue from the s/w sale, but obviously benefits by additional system sales. Of course, most of our own software products are also listed. Although we didn't do so at first, we are now requiring vendors to submit a copy of their programs to us for validation, prior to entry in the catalog. The contents of the catalog include a wide variety of vertical market packages for different kinds of businesses, some horizontal accounting, horizontal applications such as data bases, office schedulers, program developement tools, and even a few games. -- Phil Burton, Fortune Systems: -- 101 Twin Dolphin Drive, Redwood City, CA 94065 -- (415) 595-8444 x526 -- {allegra,amd70,cbosgd,dsd,floyd,harpo,hollywood,hpda,ihnp4, magic,megatest,nsc,oliveb,sri-unix,twg,varian,VisiA,wdl1} !fortune!burton

DEC puts out such a book for UNIX applications. I don't recall its exact title. If you're lucky and someone answers the phone at your local DEC office, maybe they can give you further information.
