[net.unix] UNIX on a Cray

mark@elsie.UUCP (01/26/84)

The National Cancer Institute is thinking about getting a Cray to do a
little number crunching on. DNA sequence analysis, two-dimensional gel
electrophoretogram processing, etc. I've heard that UNIX* is available for
the Cray. Is this true? If so, from whom can it be obtained? How good is the
system on a Cray?

The same questions also apply to a C compiler for the Cray.

These days, Cray Research is claiming that their only operating system
for the Cray-2 will be UNIX.

Performance is, of course, superlative.

Call your Cray representative for more information.
