[net.unix] uucp on micro's

dak@hou5e.UUCP (D Kirkman) (02/06/84)

I read a while back on USENET that there was a version of UUCP
that runs on micro-computers; does anyone know anything more about
it? (I wish I had saved the article at the time!) Please send me mail
if you know anything; I'd appreciate any information or leads on this.

It's mine. Current versions are for Coherent (IBM-PC) and
MSDOS (IBM-PC and other similar machines). Both are nearing release.
The Coherent version (which is what "vortex" runs) will be
distributed in some manner by the people who distribute Coherent
itself. The MSDOS version will be released as soon as I can get
a decent C compiler for the final work ... there seems to be some
holdup in the release of the newer C compilers from the various vendors.
For now, my current plan is to distribute the MSDOS version myself.
Versions for other suitable machines will appear as demand warrants...
