[net.unix] Zilog 8000

It runs an OS called `Zeus' that is "just like UNIX". Anyone know anything
about this beast? For starters, what flavor of UNIX is Zeus "just like"?

A co-op student friend has been given one to install and manage for the local
office of a LARGE Federal agency. He says it is to support twenty users, plus
a couple of typewriters (!) .............

I think I know which "LARGE Federal agency" your friend
is talking about; I work for one also, using the same stuff.
Zeus is based on System III, with all the goodies from
Berkeley one needs to stay sane (vi, csh, termcap, etc.).
Everything seems to work okay; it's a little slow with any
more than nine or so users, though. We have three Zilog
8000/31's so far, and I'll be setting up another in a
	few weeks.

Tell your friend that if he'll tell the name of his org-
organization, I'll tell the name of mine! I'd like to swap
hints with someone running the same type of system.
