Saxes (tenors in particular) were the macho instruments in early rock, becasue of the influence of rhythm'n'blues. The guitar started edging out the sax after boys discovered that girls were impressed and excited by Elvis and whatever, huh, attachments he had on :- :- :- :- :- :- :- :- ............ Marcel Simon
