Does anyone have / know about Optical Character Recognition equipment that could be hooked up to a UNIX(tm) system? (If it matters, I use VAXen with DZ ports, but I assume generic RS-232 is appropriate..) Thanks; Bill Stewart AT&T Bell Lab, Holmdel NJ {BTL}!ho95b!wcs

From: Ken Cowan <cowan@udel-relay.ARPA> I once had an OCR connected to a VAX running VMS. We used a Bell 103 modem. Simple? In order to "control" the thing, we had a terminal hooked to the same modem via a crazy plug. At the terminal, the user started a program that was expecting input fom the terminal, and then feed the paper through the OCR. Hope this helps. Ken
