Some years ago, we (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) obtained an educational license for Unix V6 for an 11/45. Some while later, the 11/45 was sold, leaving us with no 11 to use. OMSI is currently looking at purchasing a LSI11/73 system to run UNIX on. My question is can we upgrade to V7 (and 2.9 BSD also)? I understand that educational UNIX licenses are now granted to only degree-granting institutions, which we are not. Because we have a V6 license, can we still upgrade? Is the license for a specific machine, or can we apply it to the 11/73? Also, since it's been such a long time, we may not be able to locate the actual paperwork of the license. We have located the distribution tape, though. Will this be a problem or will such information be on file somewhere? We would much appreciate the answer to any of these questions, and maybe info as to how to proceed, who to contact, etc. Much thanx in advance, Bob Ankeney
