[net.unix] make

colonel@gloria.UUCP (George Sicherman) (05/15/84)

[brain, brain, I need a brain ...]

Won't this do it?

	source.c: /magic/source.c
		cp /magic/source.c source.c
	source.o: source.c

Of course, if the source isn't a file (e.g., it must be tarred), you
could try a kludge like this:

	source.c: /	# if source.c exists, it will be newer than /
		tar x source.c

Hope this helps.

Does anyone out there have or know about a good replacement for
"make"? I am looking for one and would appreciate any responses.
