[net.unix] S1 etc.

The manuals arrived UPS as promised. I haven't had time to do more than
cursorily examine them, but they seem clear and well structured, although there
were a few minor typos. There seems to be a coherence to the thing that invites
examination, though they have not been making their published schedules. In
particular, they seem to have substantially underestimated the time needed to
port the system and to produce certain of the compilers. However, despite the
over-optimism of the June 84 brochure, they haven't yet triggered any snake
oil alarms of mine. The impression I have thus far, w/o having visited, is
that if they had decent staffing they could turn out a good product.
Any volunteers?
By the way, I have no connection to S1 &/or MSI but curiosity and the thought
that if it's for real I'd like to buy a copy. For the moment, though, they
are only dealing with OEM's or potential OEM's.
Questions &/or comments are invited, but try to get them on the system early
enough to get to me by noon tomorrow (Fri 84 Aug 31).
