[net.unix] TIP to TAC

JRBRINKEMA@USC-ISI.ARPA (09/07/84)

I am trying to access an ARPANET TAC that uses ^Q as its speed
recognition character via a SUN workstation running TIP. How do
I send a ^Q? (typing directly on the keyboard, the ^Q gets
gobbled up by UNIX, regardless of the state on TANDEM).

As a kludge, I have a file consisting of only the character ^Q,
and I can send it by the tilde command '~C cat q' ... but there
must be a better way. tia

^Q is used for 1200 baud only. However, I have also found that the
TAC's usually fare pretty well when you type "@" at them too.
