From: Doug Gwyn (VLD/VMB) <gwyn@BRL-VLD.ARPA> I saw no UDA50 driver in the UNIX System V Release 2.0 distribution. AT&T has a habit of only supporting limited subsets of DEC computer configurations, usually not the newest packages. Presumably this is partly because they want to ship only tested software and there is a time lag from the time DEC starts shipping new equipment to the time that AT&T UNIX developers have acquired the equipment, developed support for it, and done sufficient pre-release testing. I seem to recall someone saying that the DEC UNIX Engineering Group (if they are still called that) had a UDA50 driver for UNIX System V. I don't know if this is really true or how easy it is to get hold of..

There is apparently a uda50 driver for 5.2 available from DEC for $2500. The DEC number for it is QSUDA-CG. We ordered it, but haven't seen it yet. -- eric ...!seismo!umcp-cs!aplvax!eric

Digital, themselves, have developed one which they claim is good. Those who work for Bell Communications Research or for AT&T-Bell Labs have access to another. Both the above are for System 5 and 5.0.x, etc. Marcus Hand (pyuxt!marcus)
