We're having some difficulties with the UDA50 controller on a machine here with 4 RA81's. We originally suspected a partiton problem, but recent net.unix-wizards postings suggest an RA81/RA81 problem. Can anyone elaborate? We get both hard AND soft errors: uda0: soft error, disk transfer error, unit 1, grp 0xffff8201, hdr 0xc473f, event 0650 uda0: soft error, disk transfer error, unit 1, grp 0x0, hdr 0xc4742, event 0710 uda0: soft error, disk transfer error, unit 1, grp 0xffff8401, hdr 0xc4743, event 0350 uda0: hard error uda0: hard error, disk transfer error, unit 1, grp 0xffff8500, hdr 0xc4744, event 0350 ra1f: hard error sn194920 uda0: soft error, disk transfer error, unit 1, grp 0x0, hdr 0x9dc15, event 0750 All partitions except the root partition and the swapping area are even multiples of whole cylinders AND occupy the entire disk area as defined in /etc/disktab.
