[net.unix] How do you grep with context?

Often I grep a set of files for a keyword, but can't really
tell if I've found what I want without a few lines above and
below the match. 

Does anyone have a way of doing this? It wouldn't take much to
hack grep into doing this, but I just wonder if I am missing
a trick.
