The $19 is based on 4.5 cents/page, 400-odd pages of the magazine. If you could get about 200 or so people together, you could offset print it for about the same price. Actually, I really would like the whole thing, as it would sit nicely on my bookshelf, be useful as a textbook for a UNIX seminar, etc. Pray that the Bell Labs powers-that-be figure out that this journal issue could be a great piece of advertising and public relations. They should probably reprint it with a spiffy cover and sell it for $8 to universities and hackers everywhere. [It has been mentioned that at some institutions, the cost of copying a 400 page book is $0.00 to the person copying it, while to purchase said book is at least an hour spent in filling out req forms.] wz -------
