Sometimes when tipping from a 780 to a 750 (both run 4.2bsd) the characters I type are suddenly seen by the other machine as all upper case, though I can receive characters from the other machine without difficulty. This will occur in the middle of a session, I can usually originate a session without trouble. There seems to be some correlation with using ^U, ^P, or some other control characters while in emacs on the other machine. The only solution seems to be to logout, break the connection, and retip. Can anyone explain this to me? -- AMD assumes no responsibility for anything I may say here. Phil Ngai (408) 749-5790 UUCP: {ucbvax,decwrl,ihnp4,allegra}!amdcad!phil ARPA: amdcad!phil@decwrl.ARPA

Control-P is the ``literal next'' character in, quoting its other special characters. Control-A toggles all-caps mode. Ugly, I say.... -- (This line accidently left nonblank.)
