Is there any software project management system available which is easy to use and effective? Have you used the SPMS Software Project Management System, which is part of the user contributed software in 4.2 BSD Unix? If so, what are your impressions of it? Are there any software project management systems which I should avoid? /\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\//\/ Nancy Blachman {allegra,ihnp4,ucbvax!sun}!resonex!nancy (408)720 8600 x37 Resonex 610 Palomar Ave Sunnyvale, CA 94086

In response to the inquiry: > Have you used the SPMS Software Project > Management System, which is part of the user contributed software > in 4.2 BSD Unix? If so, what are your impressions of it? Here at LMSC we are making use of some of the components in SPMS. The mkmf function, which is a makefile generator, is especially useful if you can live within its restrictions. Particularly, it attempts to treat all of the source files in a single directory as all part of the same library or executable. This can force you to really be careful about the way that you structure your sources. Mark Ellson ucbvax!{sun!sunncal,amd!cae780}!leadsv!mfe
