[net.unix] digesting and intelligent subject lines

Now that info-unix and info-unix-wizards are being digested on the ARPA
side, I would like to remind readers on the ARPA side to be careful about
keeping the subject lines intelligent. The above subject line showed up
today here in Usenet land-- since we don't see digests, we have no way to
reference back to the original articles, and no way of seeing if the
information contained is of interest to us. Posters are warned that leaving
such enigmatic subject lines has a detrimental effect-- your messages are
handled in ways similar to the infamous 'Orphaned response' subject line--
they are not read by many people, and so your comments will not be seen,
making the noise level even worse here on Usenet. Please take another five
seconds or so and put a real subject line on your articles.

thanx
