We're putting together a reference manual containing manual pages for all of our locally- and net-derived software. We'd like to include a permuted index on both the standard and local commands, and we'd like to have it look just like the permuted index that's found in the Programmer's Manual from Berkeley. We know we need to run ptx on /usr/lib/whatis, but we also need an nroff macro to do the formatting. Can anyone point us to a macro that may be laying around hidden on our system (4.1 now, but 4.2 systems are available locally, too), or provide us with a home-grown definition? Please reply directly; I'll summarize/evaluate responses. Thanks, Dick Dramstad rad@mitre-bedford.arpa
