[net.unix] Some questions on Spice

dean@resonex.UUCP (Dean Sutphin) (03/12/85)

Is there a device library available for Spice (the circuit simulation
program), i.e., BJT parameters, JFET, MOSFET, etc.?

Is there documentation on Spice models that allows calculation of Spice
model parameters from data sheets?

My experience with Spice is limited to an undergraduate
project in a EE course at UCLA a few years go, but,
I did do some modeling of transistor feedback circuitry.
We were constrained to using one of the discrete models
of the transistors where each of the data sheet parameters
corresponded to the property of one of the discrete
elements of model. I believe that I recall the professor
mentioning some canned routines which existed for laying
out the model where you could plug in the component
values, but, being undergraduates, we were given the
experience of coding the model as well.
