In some source code, we see #ifdef USG ...
What is USG? Is it somehow connected to Bell Labs (it is normally
paired with #ifdef BSD). I assume there was a Unix System Group in Bell
Labs once apon a time?? Is this correct?
If someone can shed some insite to the question, I would be gratefull.
Thanks in advance,
David Hartwell

USG was the "UNIX Support Group". #ifdef USG meant, basically, if one of the systems they supplied. These looked like UNIX System III and V. (USG 3.0, 5.0, etc. internal nomenclature.) I think the current counterpart of USG is the UNIX System Development Lab. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong..
