I realize that this request is as old as the hills but the problem has arisen and I would like to know the best solution for today is: - there are two remote VMS sites owned by RPI with only asynchronous modems attached - there are networks of other machines on LANs, the current mail server is a 4.2UNIX host I need a mechanism to communicate via mail with those remote hosts, I cannot afford to buy EUNICE from TWG for this purpose so something which is public domain with a distribution cost of less than $1000 is what I am looking for. I don't care if the mechanism is UUCP or trained mice deliverying 3x5 cards just as long as both sides can support it (the current support for the 4.2UNIX host is SMTP/TCP/IP, UUCP, CSNET/MMDF, and shortly bitnet). -- marty schoffstall schoff%rpics.csnet@csnet-relay ARPA schoff@rpics CSNET seismo!rpics!schoff UUCP RPI Computer Science Department Troy, NY 12180 (518) 271-2654
