<<chomp, chomp, chomp>> Does anyone know of a way to put a process to sleep *reliably* for less than one second? sleep(3) and alarm(2) won't help cause they work in whole seconds. I don't want to just "waste time" via an idiot loop - I really want to put the process to sleep (it gets tired and could use the rest) but for only half a second or so. I've heard rumors of a nap() function (perhaps on 4.xBSD?) but, alas, I'm running UN*X System V and there ain't no such animal. If anyone has any insight on this, please reply via UN*X mail. I'll post any useful info. Thanks in advance. ->"So it goes." ->Alex DeSimone, Amala Consultants Inc. @ Bell Communications Research ->..!ihnp4!rruxc!alex
