I am trying to track down various LISP alternatives for our UNIX systems, these are currently VAX (4.2), SUN (4.2) and 3B[5,2] (SYSV.) I prefer a Common Lisp with some maturity (eg. comes with packages, compiler, utilities.) Can anyone give me a brief run-down on the following that landed in my lap: 1. LISP-TC (Unix Toolchest) 2. PSL (Portable Standard Lisp, Univ. Utah) Can anyone recommend others? Franz seems to have never gotten very popular here, I guess for various reasons and it doesn't work on our 3Bxs, I think XLISP is too immature at this point (no compiler, a fine thing but not for this application.) We are using Hedrick's Common Lisp on our 20 (were using ELISP) and Interlisp on our Lisp Machines. PSL sounds good, I just don't know anything about it, like how close to common lisp? how hard to port to our 3Bx's? What do people think of it? The price is right, but my time aint free. As always, thanks in advance, e-mail me, I'll summarize for anyone that wants it or the list if there's lots of interest. -Barry Shein, Boston University bzs%bu-cs@csnet-relay, ..!harvard!bu-cs!bzs or reply to this address, same thing.
