[net.unix] ustat equivalent in 4.2?

sob@neuro1.UUCP (Stan Barber) (09/23/85)

I have been having problems recently with having large volumes of news
fill up the partition /usr/spool is mounted on. After a little investigating
I found that SYSV has this easy way to find out the number of blocks on
a particular device using the ustat(2) system call (following the use of
stat(2) or fstat(2)).

Is there a easy way to do this on 4.2? I rooted around in /usr/include
and looked through the manual. Maybe I just overlooked somthing. Please
drop me a line letting me know.

Anyway, I made the batching routine smart enought to stop batching
when it was beginning to run out of space, and am thinking about modifying
uucp to be smart about it, too. But, this code will only work on SYSV
and I would love to make it work on 4.2 before I release it.

Thanks
