[net.unix] reading TOPS-20 dump tapes

jeff@kestrel.ARPA (11/28/85)

Is it possible, and has anyone done anything in getting UNIX to read
dump tapes made on TOPS-20?

Does anyone know the dump format on TOPS-20?

Help, I'm lost and confused again, Jeff jeff@kestrel.arpa

Rand Corporation has one which is distributed with the 'copyright
abandoned' Rand editor. Whether this means it is PD I don't know, but
I'm sure that someone with more knowledge about such matters could
enlighten us.

Yes, I wrote a UNIX program to read TOPS-20 dumper tapes and
have placed it in the public domain. It's been included on the
Rand E/MH distribution tape and I've posted it to net.sources.

Anyone who wants a copy, let me know.
