I spent some time fiddling our uucp L* files after my earlier posting, and made some progress. I run uucico and it gets to the point of trying to dial via the hayes modem, but it appears not to be using the right baud rate. That is, I have the dial-out specified as 1200 baud, but characters get to the modem at another speed. I checked this by replacing the modem with a terminal, and observed garbage when the terminal was set to 1200 baud. Things looked a bit better with the terminal at 300 baud. The debug statements in conn.c showed that 1200 was the target speed, and the argument used in the ioctl call appears to be correct for 1200 as seen in the sgtty.h file. Any thoughts on why there appears to be a rate mismatch as seen by the modem? -- Jeff Percival ...!uwvax!uwmacc!jwp
