Has anybody out there heard this parody of 'We are the World'? It's called 'We are the Worms' and its recorded at high speed to make the voices sort of sound like the Chipmunks. Anybody out there got the words? All I remember is: We are the Worms Out on the pavement... Personally, I think the 'We are the World' concept is good but hasn't everybody heard that Ethiopia will try to divert the food away from the needy by apply high import taxes. From what I read the English 'Do they know its Christmas' donation is still sitting in dock. The government is obviously using starvation as a means to deplete the non-communist population My suggestion is for the WATW rock-stars to helo into the Northern province of Ethiopia with a contingent of mercenaries and stick around till the food is distributed to the starving. Imagine the possibilities: live MTV coverage, videos, T-Shirts, counterfeit T-shirts, Mr T and Hulk Hogan leading the 'attack', etc. Perhaps Warren Zevon could sing during the operation: We parachute in. We parachute out. 'Wheat from above' we're screaming out. How about Mikeal Yakson descending from a cloud? Any more suggestions...or perhaps they should divert the money to Tidal-wave strucken Bangladesh? I think they'll have more success there.

/* */ Yes, I have heard "We Are The Worms"; WRIF-FM in Detroit has been playing it for about 6 weeks now. According to them, it was written by some guy in Lansing, MI. Anyway, here is a stab at the lyrics (from memory); There comes a time When the rain begins to fall And the worms come out of the ground There are people walking So be sure to watch your step Or your feet may make a squishy sound (1st chorus) We are the worms Out on the sidewalk We are the ones who make a squishy mess So watch where you walk It's a chance we're taking Coming from our homes underground But we're sure to get a better tan, just you and me When you're walking 'round, keep your eyes out on the street If you don't look out, you'll have worms under your feet Well-Well-Well-Well (Cyndi Lauper worm) We realize that the sun is gonna come And we'll shrivel like beef jerkey from the heat (2nd chorus) We are the worms Out on the pavement And when we hear a squish we turn to see where Cousin Dave went It's a stance we're taking 'Cause worms are people too And we sure don't want a better look at your big shoe (Repeat of 1st chorus) (Repeat of 2nd chorus-Bob Dylan style) (Repeat of 1st chorus-fade) Mark Tompkins epsilon!mb2c!mlt
