[net.unix] cron and rlogin

dick@ucsfcca.UUCP (Dick Karpinski) (02/15/86)

Sometimes people have problems with shellscripts to be run by cron.
Often this seems to be some detail or other about the environment
in which cron runs things. My question is: would these problems
all (or mostly) disappear if the shellscript began with
    rlogin <this machine>
and ended with
    logout
? This seems to provide the missing home directory etc. that people
forget about when developing a script for cron use.
