There have recently been several things posted on net.sources that I
would like to have working, the jive and valley girl filters and cdecl.
All of these were distributed as yacc sources. Unfortunately, I have an
IBM pc running MSDOS. I have an adequate C compiler (Microsoft), but no
yacc or lex.
Some time back I asked someone to run cdecl through yacc on a Unix
system and send me the resulting C to hack into running. I was told
that yacc includes canned pieces of sources in its output that are
covered by Bell trade secret and that the yacc output cannot be
distributed. However, I have also been told by Bell Unix people that
Bell does not retain those items that are from libraries, i.e., it is
always OK to distribute the results of using Unix as a program
development tool.
Can anyone here provide a definitive answer? Or an alternative method
for me to get C source for these items?
