[net.unix] some quests about Socket and Stream

dmheo@kaist.UUCP (Heo) (07/31/86)

I want to know about and compare the mechanisms of BSD's socket and
System V's stream.
I have some informations about socket's mechanism, but little about
stream's mechanism (only AT&T's technical journal).
If you know the mechanism of stream, please tell me it.
Or if you know the references for stream mechanism,
please inform me the references.
Thanks in advance.

"AT&T UNIX System V Release 3 STREAMS Primer",
select code 307-229

If you need all the nitty-gritty details:

"AT&T UNIX System V Release 3 STREAMS Programmer's Guide",
select code 307-227

These are available from the AT&T Customer Information Center,
2833 N. Franklin Road, P.O. Box 19901, Indianapolis, IN 46219.
I don't know the prices, but would guess somewhere around $20
and $35, respectively.
