["This is the time, and this is the record of the time"] I just got a really good record I thought I'd tell you about. You probably wouldn't like it, so don't run out and buy it and then hate me. It's by Massacre and is called "Killing Time", was recorded in 1980 and is pressed by Celluloid (CEL 6597) . Massacre consists of Fred Frith, Bill Laswell, and Fred Maher. It is an instrumental album. Fred Frith plays guitar, voice, and Casiotone. Bill Laswell plays 4 and 6 string basses and pocket trumpet. Fred Maher plays drums and percussion. All music composed or improvised by Massacre. Of course, if you like Fred Frith, do run out and buy the album, because you'd probably love it. I only have one Fred Frith album "Gravity". I like it a lot, but I like "Killing Time" a lot better. I also have an Art Bears album, "The State of the World", and I think I like "Killing Time" better than that too. Also, if you like King Crimson, especially the parts where they get very dissonant and dischordant and most people would say "This isn't music! This is noise!", but you reply "What? This is awesomely great!" then too maybe you should run out and buy it. The music (noise? -- whatever) is totally unclassifiable as rock or jazz or new wave or punk or anything, but is often incredibly psychedelic. Hmmm.... A close friend just walked in, stared at the speakers for a moment, stared at me for a moment, said "You are weird" and walked out.... Listening to this album may not make you popular, but if you are into it, it may sure bring some incredible pleasure to your ears!
