I installed an Accusonics Super-19 ROM chip into my H19 this weekend, and at the end of this article is the TERMCAP that takes advantage of most of the new features. This chip makes the H19 act very much like the VT100, plus it adds a feature or two. It is available at the Heathkit dealers, but it's not shown any their catalogs. My impressions are that it is worth the $50 if you wished that you had bought a different terminal but don't want to go out and buy a new one too soon. The point which would really make it worth while is the availability of the alternate character-generator chips which produce APL characters and 160 x 100 pixel graphics. For those of us who occasionally need to work with VMS, it makes EDT a bit more pleasant. But there is no address for Accusonics in the package from Heath, and the sales staff has no inkling of how to get the address, other than writing Heath, and I would like to not wait for their reply. So if anyone has any comments about this chip, the character generator, and especially how to get in contact with Accusonics, or a place selling these other chips, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. I called the local Heathkit store (Columbus, Ohio) and asked them about the Accusonics Super-19 ROM chip. They hadn't heard of it and they asked for a part number. Does anyone have the number? Also, they mentioned that they had a "Wattsman" (sp?) ROM that enhanced the H19. Does anybody have experience with this ROM or any other H19 ROMs? Frank Myers Bell Labs Columbus, Ohio
