Hi, we have a problem useing our vt220 terminals over the net. Our terminals are connected to a VMS system but we often telnet over to a unix system on a gould. The problem is that certain files and things make our terminals hangup. We then have to escape the net and re-telnet back in. This seems to happen at specific instances. It happens if i delete 5 or 6 lines in vi. It often happens when using rn . In particular when long lines are included. It always happens in the same spots in rn. The problem can sometimes be avoided by stepping thru the artical (hitting return instead of space). We've tried all the possible vt220 settings to no avail. Does anybody have any suggestions? Does anybody have vt220 termcap that might be better than what i'm using? What kind of character combination makes these terminals hang-up? thanks tom hearn, hearn@tcgould.tn.cornell.edu
