This month's NSS journal contains the summaries of the 1980-1 caving
accidents.  Fascinating reading -- learn how NOT to kill yourself.

	Prior to this month's NSS Journal, the NSS published a book
of cave accidents from  (I think) 1970 or so, to the (then) present.
This book, which I received last year, has a considerable amount of
useful information for those who want to learn about various failures
of standard methods, as well as failures due to 
inexperience/carelessness/recklenssness.

I recommend it for especially for beginning cavers, although
most experienced cavers will also find 'interesting' material.

Both of the lists of accidents STRONGLY point out the necessity for
the proper equipment and techniques!
