I'm still on the track of good cave programs. I finally found David
McKenzie. He's at 3300 Hemlock in Austin, TX 78722. He's callable
at 512-476-6069. He has two different sets of computer programs:
one for micros, one for large numbercrunchers. The micro programs can
do path closure calculations -- and soon should have some graphics and
plotting capabilities. They run on CP/M (require apple softcard, too).
The large programs do plotting and all kinds of exciting things.

David pointed me to Bob Hoke (computer plotting subsection captain in
the NSS) and Bob Thrun (who has programs possibly as good as David's).
I'm working on tracking down their work. Will report with a summary
when I find out the facts.

In my continuing search for cave plotting programs, I spoke with
Bob Hoke, subsection captain for computer cave mapping (with NSS, I believe).
His address is 8727 Hayshed Lane #12, Columbia MD 21045.

For $3/year you can subscribe to the newsletter about cave plotting programs.

I gained information from allegra!houxa!major about some other fortran
programs, notably one in the public domain written by Bob Thrun. I'm
attempting to procure that program.

One Jon Halleck in Utah appears to have a super program that does rendering
with shading. I haven't been able to contact him yet.

This is the last you'll hear from me until I try out some of the programs.
I'll report the results here when I get them.
