TWG found our problem a day or two after my original posting . Now that everything has been working fine for a while we are confident that it is all fixed. We had defined the logical name EUNICE_FULL_FILENAMES which causes problems in Eunice 3.2 for rlogin,ftp and network mail. I guess most people just ignore the logical name, but we tried to use it. I hear from TWG that the logical name will be left out or fixed in the next release. TWG spent lots of time working with us even though we are not on support, so don't take my original posting as trying to slander them, I was merely trying to lay out all of our symptoms so it might remind someone of a similar problem they might have run into. I was frustrated with an installation that seemed to have been done properly but only half worked. Now that we have everything working we are very happy with both Eunice and IP/TCP. -- --- John D.
