While running strings on the file etc:server.exe I noticed that the code apparently supports the generation of rwho packets; sending rwho packets to any site listed in the file etc:rwhohost.dat. Clearly this feature is unsupported, but... does it work, and if so how? Oh, thanks to all who replied to my question regarding reading the IP/TCP routing tables from /dev/kmem. My attempt at porting the routing deamon seems to work. Bruce Pinn

The IP/TCP server program does indeed support rwho packets. Unfortunately, the version distributed by Wollongong is still using the 4.1c BSD rwho packet format (which is rejected by 4.2 hosts). When the 4.2 upgrade is distributed by Wollongong [it will be for VMS 4.0] the correct rwho packets will be generated and accepted.
