The next three messages contain source, documentation, and macros for the latest version of bib, a bibliography formatting preprocessor for n/troff. Bib makes use of a database indexed using the utilities invert and lookup (also included). In addition to their use as part of bib, these utilities also have useful applications in their own right. For example by inverting the net map information issued periodically, it is easy to look up information concerning a particular site. These utilities appeared on the net several months ago. For those of you who picked them up then, recent changes include: 1. Modifications to reference formatting to permit greater flexibility in different formats (ie, whether abbreviations are followed by periods, etc.). (All changes are documented in greater length in the documentation, natch) 2. Cleaning up the naming conventions for internal string/macro names, making macros a bit easier to understand. 3. Listrefs has been modified so it now sorts references, same as bib. 4. Several minor bugs have been fixed. direct comments, complaints, flames to {utah-cs, purdue, ucbvax, eagle, teklabs} | arizona | budd
