This is to announce the availability of the Scribe Bibliography Generator -- a software tool developed at Wang Institute of Graduate Studies by Prof. Susan Gerhart. The Bibliography Generator (BibGen) is a UNIX tool for producing the bibliography files that Scribe uses for citations and bibliography entries. The usual UNIX skills - text editing, file and directory handling, program calling - are assumed. Familiarity with the Scribe manual is required for significant use or varied bibliography entries. However, new users of Scribe may find the BibGen helpful in learning Scribe's data model and styles for bibliographies. Scribe bibliography files contain templates to be filled in describing reference materials for papers or for a general bibliography, e.g. for a report or a course. The user is prompted for field contents of the materials. A help system is provided through which the user can ask for the definitions of the various entries, get hints on what is expected, and reuse previous field contents. The BibGen is intended to be an easy-to-use, efficient, helpful, standardizing way of preparing Scribe bibliography files. To receive a copy of BibGen please send a mail to: ..!decvax!wivax!distrib (USENET) distrib.wang-inst@csnet-relay (CSNET) The following is the information required in your mail: (1). Your name (2).
