.TH CLEAR 1 .SH NAME clear \- clear terminal screen and status line .SH SYNOPSIS .B clear [ .B \-l ] .SH DESCRIPTION .I Clear clears your screen if this is possible. It uses the ``cl'' capability from .IR termcap (5) to figure out how to clear the screen. .PP If the .I \-l option is specified, the status line of the terminal will be disabled also, using the ``ds'' capability. .PP .SH "SEE ALSO" .IR termcap(3) .IR termcap(5) .SH BUGS (?Feature) If the needed capabilities cannot be found, it quietly does nothing. .SH NOTES By Gordon A.
